Day 14 – Bamfield to Port Renfrew
The penultimate day!
Hopefully a slightly shorter ride from the day before will give me the energy reserves for the biggest day of climbing I will ever have done.
The total climb totals 16,394 ft for the day as I make my way through unpaved roads and logging roads through the Hitchie Creek Provincial Park and Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park.
40 miles of the route is uphill, average of 15% over the day with some 30% gradients to test my mettle after 2 weeks of riding rugged terrain. May as well save the best until last right? Knowing I’m one more day away from completing the endurance challenge of a lifetime will be motivation enough, knowing that money will be donated as I do the ride and to know I am only 1 day away from seeing friends and family again.http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3088007
